GOD SEES YOU, MOM

Genesis 16:7-16
There may be times when some, including moms, feel like they’re invisible and no one is
noticing us- even God. Hagar comes to realize that with the “God Who sees us” He:
I. Is Aware of Our Situations
A. Hagar’s life was horrible as a “single mom” in slavery being used and abused leaving her
in fearful despair in the middle of nowhere (Ex. 1:11,14; 2:23-24; Prov. 15:3; Ps. 139:1-4)
1. He knows about not only our present, but what the future holds for us and our
children (Isa. 46:10; Ps. 139:16)
II. Shares with Us in Our Struggles
A. Even with those seen as unimportant, He knows us personally (Isa. 43:1; I Sam. 16:7)
1. Whether our hardship is undeserved or we bear some responsibility, He empathizes
with our suffering (Gen. 21:9-10,16-17; Ex. 2:25; Heb. 4:15)
III. Shows He Cares About Us
A. We can never run away from Jehovah Jireh even as He calls us back to fulfill our
responsibilities (Ps. 139:7-12; Ps. 17:8; Gen. 22:14; Col. 3:22-23)
1. God will be with anyone as sometimes He even allows us to see Him (Gen. 21:19-20; II
Cor. 3:18)
In all of our relationships, we need to strive to be like God as we see and remember others,
including mothers (Matt. 5:48; Eph. 5:1)
